  3. HELIX delta-T Conveyor Design Program Demo - Installation Instructions
  4.  
  5. The delta-T demo files are provided 3 self extracting EXE files
  6. called [tdisk1.exe], [tdisk2.exe] and [tdisk3.exe]. These three files
  7. have been combined into a single self extracting file called [conveyor.exe]
  8. to simplify downloading. Once you have downloaded the file [conveyor.exe]
  9. run it by double clicking on it from Windows Program Manager or 
  10. Windows Explorer and it will unpack the 3 self extracting files mentioned
  11. above. Then follow these instructions.

  13. Once you have downloaded these three files to your hard drive, 
  14. place them in a temporary subdirectory and then unpack the files
  15. by running each one in turn, just as you would run any executable
  16. file. (You can run the files by double clicking on them in 
  17. Windows File Manager or use the Run command on your Program Manager
  18. or Windows Desktop)

  20. Please shut down all applications before doing the installation.
  21. (Please also close down Microsoft Office which often runs in the
  22. background as it may be started automatically when you start Windows.)

  24. Now run the SETUP.EXE file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  25.  
  26. The installation program will copy and expand all the files to your 
  27. hard disk. Certain files that are shared between applications will 
  28. also be copied to the Windows\System sub-directory. A Helix Technologies
  29. program group will be created in the Windows Program Manager and the 
  30. program name and icon inserted into the group. A message will be
  31. displayed when the installation is complete.

  33. Important Note: This program uses the DOS SHARE.EXE program to provide
  34. a file locking mechanism for accessing the databases. 
  35. You must run the SHARE.EXE program before starting Windows. 
  36. You can run this program automatically by adding the following line 
  37. to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

  39. C:\DOS\SHARE.EXE  /L:500
  40.  
  41. where C:\DOS refers to the directory location of the DOS program SHARE.EXE.
  42. If you are using Windows 95, it is not necessary to add the SHARE.EXE 
  43. statement to your autoexec.bat file. To run the program, click on the 
  44. Helix delta-T program item.

  47. System Requirements
  48. To run the Helix delta-T program you need:
  49. ╖ Personal computer with 80386 or higher microprocessor.
  50. ╖ 4 MB of RAM.
  51. ╖ 9 Mb of Hard Disk space.
  52. ╖ 3.5" 1.44 MB disk drive.
  53. ╖ DOS operating system 3.0 or later version.
  54. ╖ Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or later version. (Windows 95 is optional)
  55. ╖ Enhanced graphics adaptor (EGA) or better resolution monitor.
  56. ╖ Printers, plotters and networks supported by Windows version 3.1 or later.
  57. ╖ Microsoft mouse or compatible is recommended but not required.
